1 Peter 5:8-9 (New International Version)
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
TODAY - of all days... Christians must be on the alert. This is the day the world tries to glorify all things dark, all things evil, all things unclean. Satan struts his stuff on Halloween. But Satan is a fool! Because, the Lord our God is almighty and more powerful than the devil and all of his demons. Satan knows he will be defeated in the end. Will you let him drag you down with him?
I noticed a blanket message went out today from my internet service provider, asking the question... "What are you wearing for Halloween?" Certainly there are many fun costumes that I might consider... ones that do not evoke images of demons, goblins, or immorality. But this year, I am going as myself. I boldly choose to put on the armor of God! Some may call me haughty or whatever. But as boldly as I do it, I also humbly approach this day as a servant. I want to be pleasing to my God who sees the worldly symbols of evil as an abomination. Therefore, I speak out against this ugly secular holiday. I challenge Christians to take this stand with me.
Christians... be faithful today and put on the armor of God.
